Carlos began his career in London where he worked at Citigroup and Societe Generale Asset Management. He then moved to the Cayman Islands in 2004 and, prior to joining Berman Fisher, was a Senior Vice President at MaplesFS, the financial services arm of the international law firm Maples and Calder.
He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder and has earned the Certificate in Securities and Financial Derivatives and Certificate in Investment Management qualifications from the UK Securities Institute. He also holds the Accredited Director designation granted by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Secretaries.
Carlos has extensive experience in both the onshore and offshore financial services industry. Having worked in the fiduciary business for the last eight years he has expertise in a diverse range of innovative and multi-jurisdictional financing and investment structures and has served on the boards of numerous structured finance vehicles, private equity funds and hedge funds. During his time at MaplesFS, Carlos also managed the Islamic finance book of business and oversaw the formation of and served as a director to Shariah-compliant investment companies and Sukuks.
Carlos is a member of the CFA Society of the Cayman Islands, the Cayman Islands Directors Association and the UK Securities Institute.
